Scope
Scope is a charity that works with disabled people with the aim of ensuring people with a disability have the same opportunities as everyone else. They also work with these people's families too and are not limited to any age range. The charity offers practical, everyday support and delivers campaigns that can change lives.
Scope strive to ensure that no limits are set on a person's potential if they do suffer with a disability. They want to spread the message that every disabled person has the right to live their life and work towards their goals without being limited by the prejudices or expectations of others; this is what they aim to achieve.
Scope are always appealing for volunteers for its Christchurch shop, who can spare anything from a couple of hours to a couple of days a week. Volunteers at Scope shops gain valuable social skills, as well as the chance to gain an NVQ in Retail. For more information contact the shop or email Kelly Butler at kelly.butler@scope.org.uk.
